One Hour Cinnamon Rolls

I don't know about you, but whenever I start craving a warm, homemade cinnamon roll I need it like, 15 minutes ago.
But you have let the yeast do it's thing.
Let the dough sit.
Roll the dough.
Let the dough sit.
Cut the dough.
Let the dough sit.
It just never gets done quick enough for me!
That's why I love, love, love this recipe!
From start to finish it takes just about one full hour. Say what? You ask...yes, you can have warm, homemade cinnamon rolls baked, frosted, and the kitchen cleaned up within one hour!

These are the perfect cinnamon rolls for whenever the craving strikes randomly.
You don't have to worry about devoting hours to resting time.
That's why I think my daughter asks for these quite frequently.
She likes to spread the sugar and cinnamon on, and by the time everything is cleaned up, she is devouring her warm roll!

First, I'll start with my photos I took.
When you let the yeast get frothy with the warm water it will look like this when it is ready for the next step (after about 10 minutes):

And then when the dough comes together:

After it's first tiny resting phase:

When I roll out this dough, I don't use flour on the counter, I just spread out some oil and use my hands. This dough is easy to work with and I haven't had it stick or any other problems with it:

After rolling up the dough, and slicing it into 12-15 sections, let it rise in your baking dish for a few minutes before popping them in the oven.

And when they come out of the oven slather them in the delicious frosting and then they will look something like this glorious mess of carbs and sugar:

Prep Time: 45 min
Cook Time: 15-20 min
Ingredients (12-15 rolls)
    For the Rolls
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 1 3/4 cups warm water
    • 3 tbsp yeast
    • 5 1/4 cups flour
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/3 cup melted butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
    For the Frosting
    • 1 tbsp butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 4 cups powdered sugar
    • 2-3 tbsp milk
    Instructions
    For the Rolls
    Preheat oven to 400°
In a stand mixer add sugar, oil, warm water, and yeast. (I let the water just get warm from the faucet).
Mix until combined with a wooden spoon or spatula. Let sit for 10 minutes, or until foamy.
Then mix in the eggs, salt, and flour. Beat for about 7 or 8 minutes, then let sit for 10 minutes.
Place dough on the counter which you spread a couple teaspoons of oil out onto.
Shape dough into a large rectangle, then brush on the melted butter.
Combine the sugar and cinnamon and pout over the dough, out to the edges.
Roll dough lengthwise and cut into 12-15 even slices.
Place in a baking pan sprayed with non-stick spray.
Let rest in the pan for about 5 minutes.
Place in the oven and let bake for about 8-10 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
Remove rolls and leave in the baking pan.
    For the Frosting
While the rolls are baking, mix together the butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk for the frosting.
Add milk a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. If too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Pour frosting over still warm rolls.
    Serve while still warm!
