You find them at potlucks, barbeques, and our Thanksgiving table!
I wanted to try something a bit different this year, and these were really tasty!
They thickened well, the bacon had a good salty taste so they weren't too sweet, and for fun I squirted in some Sriracha.
There isn't much to say about these. They go together quickly, cook in the oven along your main dish, and are just as good when eaten as a leftover.
Brown Sugar & Bacon Baked Beans
8 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-1 inch pieces
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 small onion, chopped
2-28oz cans pork and beans
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce
Preheat oven to 350
In a large skillet over high heat, cook the bacon slices until browned.
Drain bacon on paper towels.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine all the remaining ingredients.
Add the bacon pieces once the excess fat is blotted off.
Stir to mix well.
Pour into a 4-quart casserole dish.
Bake for 1-1 1/2 hours or until thickened.
