Rolo Cake Mix Bars

Once I made my first batch of Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies, I have been on a cake mix mission to try everyone's recipe for fun things. I am learning quickly that the ideas are limitless and so many people enjoy starting off a scrumptious dessert with a box of cake mix!
I came across this recipe for Rolo Cake Mix Bars from Cookies and Cups whom had adapted it from Taste of Home and I had to try it right away.
A bag of Rolos were hanging out in my cupboard uneaten since making those fabulous Rolo Pretzel bites with the m&m in the center. oh yuuuum!
So since I happened to have everything on hand that the recipe called for it was baking time!

Rolo Cake Mix Bars
Prep: 10 minutes Bake: 40 minutes Servings: approx 24

Preheat oven to 350°

1 box yellow cake mix (18.25oz box)
1-5oz can evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
40 Rolo candies, unwrapped and halved if desired

Spray dish with cooking spray (9x13 is the original recipe, I used an 8x8 for a thicker, chewier bar)
Combine cake mix, evaporated milk and melted butter in an large bowl.
Batter becomes very thick.
Press half of the batter into the bottom of the baking dish.
Place Rolo candies over the batter in the dish.
Since I made it in an 8x8 dish, I didn't cut the Rolos in half, and left them whole. YUM
Drop the remaining batter over the Rolos by tablespoonfuls.
Bake for 40 minutes or until crust is turning a nice golden brown and candies are melted.
Cool on wire rack.
Slice and enjoy!
