Typically I dip the biscuits in butter, roll in the sugar place neatly in a bundt pan, but let's face it; it was the weekend and I wanted to be lazy for an entire day.
So needless to say, I made this monkey bread and it turned out so delicious. I was super surprised!
The measurements are approximate because I just was going with the flow, so-to-speak :)
Lazy Day Monkey Bread
2 tubes refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 biscuits each)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar (brown or white; whatever your preference. I used white this time)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 400°
Spray a 9x5 bread pan with non-stick cooking spray
Cut butter by teaspoonful or so and lay on bottom of pan.
Sprinkle 1/4 of the sugar over the bottom of the pan (I used just under 1/4 cup)
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon over the sugar (again, I used just under 1 teaspoon)
Rip biscuits into pieces and place in the pan.
Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon, then sugar, then place butter randomly over the top.
Bake for 20 -25 minutes, until center is fully baked.
Remove from oven and then drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top of the bread:
Let bread continue to cool, allowing milk to seep down into the bread.
Invert bread onto plate and let cool completely.
