Jalapeno BBQ Hamburgers

It seems like during the winter we fall sort of into a dinner rut at my house.
Channa works 12 hour shifts, therefore doesn't get off of work until 7pm...by then it is too cold and getting too dark for me to fire up the grill...well I could, I just don't want to.
During the warm months we grill a LOT. I love it. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, pork, corn, potatoes...yum. Everything on the grill is good.
But yesterday I was craving a hamburger.
A grilled one. We also got 2 inches of snow yesterday. No grilling for me.
So after tinkering around the kitchen, I decided to make a stuffed hamburger. One with some kick. A jalapeno and pepperjack cheese stuffed burger dressed with my favorite BBQ sauce, Sweet Baby Ray's.

It was successful. The hubs came home happy to eat after his 12 hour shift. He happily ate two burgers. Grilled on the stove seemed to work out alright. Not the same. But it did okay for being March 4th.

Jalapeno BBQ Hamburgers
Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 10 minutes Servings: 4 hamburgers

1 pound ground beef
8 oz pepperjack cheese
1/2 cup jarred jalapenos
1 cup BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray's)
4 hamburger buns
Olive oil

Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions.
Flatten each into a round thin circle.
Slice the cheese into strips and cut into smaller pieces.

Place 2 pieces of the cheese onto 4 of the flattened beef patties.
Top each with desired amount of jalapenos.

Top each ground beef patty with fillings with one of the plain beef patties.
Close in the edges and shape into a hamburger.

Heat a griddle, grill, or skillet and rub with olive oil so the beef doesn't stick.
Place the hamburgers on the heated grill and let cook about 5 minutes on each side, or until each is browned to desired doneness.
Add extra slices of pepperjack cheese to the top during the last few minutes of cooking.
Place a large lid over the burgers to keep in the heat and help melt the cheese.

Remove the burgers to a bun and top with BBQ sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
