After rumaging around in my cupboard for a quick chocolate fix, I came across a brownie mix and remembered I just picked up Coca-Cola on sale (I try not to keep soda in the house) and decided today would be the day I put this to the test!
I've heard many people use Diet Coke, well I myself am not a Diet soda person, so Cherry Coke it is.
Cherries and chocolate...if you have to know by now that cherries are my favorite, well they are, and this was definitely a quick and easy brownie to make.
Cherry Coke Brownies
Prep: 5 minutes (if that) Bake: 25 minutes Servings: approx 9
Preheat oven to 350°
1 package brownie mix
1 can Cherry Coke or any cola of your choosing
The brownie mix I had on hand was an 8x8 pan size, so instead of a full can of soda, I added about 7-8 ounces...and drank the rest. If using a 9x13 pan size, use the entire can.
Add soda to the brownie mix, it will foam a lot, but combine until no dry mix remains.
Pour mixture in a baking dish with a greased bottom.
Bake for 20-25 minutes; or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Cool then enjoy!
These came out as a very fudgy brownie, one that is simple and my daughter and daycare kiddos devoured without a problem :)
