Chocolate Chip Cookies {Nestle} **

I just realized over the weekend that I haven't posted any chocolate chip cookie recipes for a while!
Well that is unacceptable :)
So, this weekend I got busy and made a tried and true cookie recipe...the Nestle recipe.
It's the one printed on the back of the chocolate chip bag and one that I have made countless times.
Although it is a timeless recipe, I give it two stars. Just because it is very basic and doesn't have great brown sugary yummy flavor. As a quick and easy recipe though, it is great. I think if you chilled the dough overnight and then baked it the flavor would be much more intense...but that applies to every chocolate chip cookie recipe I suppose.
 But here it is: the classic Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookies!


Chocolate Chip Cookes {Nestle}

2 1/4 cups AP flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter (or margarine), softened  *I used butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups Nestle Toll House Milk Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375°
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungerased baking sheets
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely
Makes 5 dozen cookies
