Who doesn't enjoy reading books to their children? Especially Christmas books?
Whenever I am around Christmas books I cannot help it, but I get the urge to purchase every book. I just love the stories, the pictures, the spirit of the holidays! Reading is one of my favorite pass times and I want my daughter to grow up having it be one of her favorite's also. A person can never have too many books. No matter a child's age, their library is important. So when I saw people celebrating the Christmas season by having 25 books for their child to open each day before Christmas during the month of December, I just knew I had to do that this year for my Sophia. She already has a fairly diverse library, but who wouldn't love adding 25 Christmas books to their bookshelf? Ummm...I know I would!
It was a bit more of an investment that I had really thought through, but I purchased the books from Amazon and I have a Prime membership, so shipping was always free for me. I compared Barnes and Noble with Amazon, and the prices were just way better with Amazon. I didn't want dollar store books, I wanted books that will stand through my daughter's childhood and she can pass on to her own kids...way in the future!
I decided that this will turn into an annual tradition, but each year I won't purchase 25 Christmas books, I will start getting books that she is "into" for her age. I am so excited!
We had her Elf on the Shelf, Dolla bring the books the morning of December 1. I picked up a Christmas tote at Hobby Lobby for $6 to keep all the books in:
It was dark when she spotted the basket in the morning, and my flash apparently was too bright...
The first book she chose to open from the basket.
I also included a fun little letter from Dolla about the books:
